Ceci est notre dernière journée en Saskatchewan. Une chose qu'on aimait sur cette route du sud de la Saskatchewan, c'était de suivre la route du chemin de fer. Nous savions qu'il y aurait un petit village à chaque 25 km ou environ. Ceci est la distance que les ancient trains à vapeur devaient arrêter pour faire le plein d'eau. Aussi quand on voyait au loin un élévateur à grain, on savait qu'on approchait d'un village. La plupart des petits villages ont un magasin Co-op pour nourriture et essence.
À moitié chemin, et 72 km de route, nous sommes arrêté à Moosomin pour un très bon déjeuner. Il était seulement 9:30h et nous savions que nous pourrions faire le reste du chemin jusqu'a Virden, où un Comfort Inn nous attend, pour 2 soirs, puisque nous avons tous besoin d'une journée de congé.
20 km plus loin, donc après 92 km de route, nous avons traversé la frontière du Manitoba, notre 4e province. Il n'y avait pas grand chose là, alors nous avons roulé un autre 10 km jusqu'au prochain village, Elkhorn, où nous sommes arrêté à une station d'essence et avons dévoré une crème glacée et rempli nos bouteilles avec des breuvages froids. Nous n'étions qu'à 30 km de notre journée de repos.
À ce point, il y avait un nuage noir au dessus de nous, pas trop gros; mais il nous a suivi et donné de la pluie pour environ 10 km. Ceci a rafraichit le temps. La pluie a cessé assez vite avant notre arrivée à l'hôtel, de façon que nous étions tous sec à notre destination. Nous sommes dans un bel hôtel et une chose qui est certain c'est qu'on va dormir plus tard demain matin!
En traversant au Manitoba, nous avons perdu une heure...il fallait avancer notre montre. Maintenant nous n'avons que 2 heures de différence avec la maison!

Again, we got up early, at 4:30h, so that we could be on the road at 5:30h. We wanted to go all the way to Virden and since there was rain in the forecast for late afternoon, we wanted to get there as early as possible. Hopefully, today the wind stayed very light, so it didn't have any effect on our day.
This was going to be our last day in Saskatchewan. There is one thing for sure we are going to miss; travelling in Southern Saskatchewan and following the train tracks, we knew there was a small village every 25 km or so. That's the distance the old vapor trains needed to stop to refill with water. It was always nice to see the grain elevators in the horizon to tell us where all those villages were. And in most of those villages, you can find a Co-op, for food and gaz.
At midway, and 72 km of road, we stopped in Moosomin for a nice large breakfast that was awesome. It was only 9:30h and by then we knew we would definitely make it to Virden, where we would get to a nice Comfort Inn, for 2 nights, because we all want a rest day tomorrow.
20 km later, and 92 km of ride, we were crossing to Manitoba, our 4th province. There was not much there, so we just took pictures and went on to the next village, Elkhorn, 10 km farther, where we enjoyed cold drinks and ice cream. We were only 30 km from our rest day.
Then we ran into a dark cloud that gave us rain for 10 km or so. It stopped raining a bit before we got to the hotel, so by the time we arrived, we were all dry. We are in a nice hotel and we are definitely sleeping in tomorrow morning.
When we crossed to Manitoba, we lost an hour, as we had to advance our clocks by one hour. We now only have 2 hours difference in time with home.
