Day 55 - July 23 - Havelock to Perth - 145 km (T=4842 km)

Nous ne nous sommes levés qu'à 5:30h, mais nous étions sur la route par 6:30h.  Ce qui est pratique avec un hotel qui offre un fridge et congélateur, c'est qu'on peut congeler de l'eau pour la journée suivante.  Nous avons chacun un sac glacière (cooler) à l'arrière de nos vélos et nous trouvons qu'avec l'eau glacée, la fin de la journée est plus agréable.

Hier soir, Charles avait trouvé deux choix d'arrêts pour être capable de se rendre demain chez notre garçon Patrick, à Ottawa.  Soit faire 125 km et arrêter à un beau terrain de camping, ou faire 145 km jusqu'à un hotel à Perth.  Quand nous sommes arrivés devant le camping, Marthe a trouvé assez d'énergie et a dit qu'elle pouvait continuer et faire le 20 km d'extra.  De cet hotel nous ne sommes que 90 km de chez Patrick.

Aujourd'hui, nous avons eu une journée nuageuse, sans pluie, donc pas si chaude que les jours précédents.  Nous avions aussi un vent de dos, donc une journée parfaite.  En soirée, nous sommes allés dans un parc en ville et fait un BBQ pour souper.  La température était encore très belle, avec le soleil sorti, et aucun moustique.  Donc une très belle soirée.

 67 km - Kaladar

 68 km - 10h - too late for breakfast, so had lunch

 90 km - glad to see Estelle with a cooler of cold drinks!

 105 km - second lunch

 116 km - waiting for Marthe and François

 125 km - camping where we could have stopped

 144 km - Perth - population 6000

We did not get up until 5:30h, but were on the road by 6:30h.  What is nice about a hotel, is that when you have a fridge with a freezer, you can freeze water for the next day.  We both have coolers on the back of our bikes and we find that with the icy water, it makes the day much more enjoyable.

Charles had given two choices last night for stops to make to be able to make it to our son Patrick's place by tomorrow.  It was 125 km to a very nice campground, or 145 km to a hotel in Perth.  When we got to the campground, Marthe found more energy and said she wanted to go for the extra 20 km. So we are in a hotel tonight, only about 90 km from Patrick's.

Today was a nice cloudy day, with no rain, so not as warm as it has been.  We also had a tail wind, so it was really a perfect day.  In the evening, we went to a town park, and made a good BBQ.  Weather was still very nice, the sun was showing, and there was no flies.  So a very nice evening.
