4000 km
35 km - view of Serpent River
Massey - where we turned to take Lee Valley road - bye-bye highway 17!!
Lee Valley road - no shoulder but very low traffic and no big trucks
a few strawberries - quelques fraises
Again we were on our bikes early this morning. After 5 km we took the official 4000 km picture. We got to a town named Spanish, after 48 km, and found a nice little restaurant where we had a good breakfast. After that good meal, we knew we only had another 19 km on highway 17, because we were going on Lee Valley Road, for the last 30 km to get to Espanola. It was nice and relaxing to get to a low traffic route. It was very quiet and we even found a strawberry u-pick . So we took the time to stop there and ate some very good berries. At the end of the road, we were on route 6, in Espanola. This route going south will bring us to Manitoulin Island. So we are done with highway 17 and have no regrets.
It was only 13:00h when we arrived in Espanola, but to go on, would mean another 50 km, and right at the corner was this very nice hotel, well located, near restaurants and a big grocery store, so we stayed. Nice to have shorter days, as well. The forecast for tomorrow is strong head wind and rain, so we may not go too far.
