ONTARIO - Day 45 - July 13 - Strongs to Sault Ste Marie - 72 km (T=3849 km)

Ce matin nous avons pris la route à 6:30h même si nous savions que nous n'avions qu'une petite distance à faire pour nous rendre à Sault Ste Marie au Canada. Nous voulions arriver tôt au magasin de vélo.  Ça été une journée facile aujourd'hui, excepté qu'il n'y a pas eu de service avant d'arriver à Sault Ste Marie, USA, où nous avons pris un déjeuner (57 km).

Avant de traverser le pont, nous avons vu notre première enseigne indiquant le Canada. Celle-ci disait aussi que si l'on allait tout droit on irait à St Ignace.  Nous avons pris une photo, puisque c'est le deuxième jour de suite où nous voyons un nom de ville comme par chez nous.

Nous avons passé la douane sans problèmes et juste après nous avons rencontré un cycliste local, qui a fait le chemin avec nous jusqu'au magasin de vélo: Vélorution.  Ce magasin offre le camping gratuit aux cyclistes et a même un accès à une salle de bain et douche.  Comme la météo annonçait de la pluie et tonnerre pour le reste de la journée, nous sommes allés à l'hotel de l'autre côté du chemin.  Nos vélos sont maintenant en bonne condition avec 4 pneus neufs, donc nous pourrons nous rendre chez nous. Nous allons prendre un jour de repos demain dans cette belle ville Canadienne.

We started our ride at 6:30h this morning, even though we knew we had only a short distance to do to get to Sault Ste Marie in Canada.  We wanted to arrive early at the bike shop.  This was an easy ride, but had no services until we got to Sault Ste Marie, USA, where we had breakfast (57 km). 

Before we crossed the bridge, we saw our first sign for Canada, and it also said that if going straight, you would go to St Ignace. We took a picture, as this is the second day in a row we see a town with a name just like home. 

It was easy to go through custom and right after we met a local cyclist who rode with us to the bike shop: Vélorution.  This bike shop offers free camping to cyclists and even has access to a bathroom and shower.  The forecast was for rain and thunderstorm, so we opted for the hotel across the street.  Our bikes are now in tip top condition with 4 brand new tires, so we are good to get home.  We are going to take a rest day tomorrow in this nice Canadian town.
