Day 63 - July 31 - Montmagny to Rivière-du-Loup - 129 km (T=5647 km)

Aujourd'hui, nous avons eu la journée la plus facile pour faire du vélo de ce voyage.  Nous avions un vent fort de dos du début à la fin.  Nous avions planifié de nous rendre à Rivière-du-Loup et avons décidé de ne pas aller plus loin, même si c'était tentant.  Il n'était que 11:30h mais parfois un après-midi de repos fais du bien.   Nous sommes à l'Hotel Universel, que nous connaissons bien, pour y être resté plusieurs fois.

Nous avons suivi la Route 132 toute la journée.  C'était très agréable, parce que nous étions souvent près de fleuve et il y avait de beaux paysages.  Nous étions presque toujours près des maisons et il y a souvent des magasins, des motels et des terrains de camping.

Demain nous continuons sur la Route 132 et allons passer par la Vallée Matapédia et sortir à Campbellton.  Nous aurions pu choisir de prendre un chemin un peu plus court et passer par la piste cyclable 'Le Petit Témis' qui sort à Edmundston, et que Charles aime bien faire, mais nous voulons passer par la Péninsule Acadienne et chez Lucien, le père de Marthe.

Today we had the easiest day for biking so far on this trip.  We had a strong tail wind from start to finish.  We had planned to get to Rivière-du-Loup and decided not to go further, even if it was tempting.  It was only 11:30h, but sometimes an afternoon of rest is good for you.  We are staying at Hotel Universel, that we know quite well, for having stayed here many times in the past.

We followed Route 132 all day.  That was enjoyable, since we were following the river for a good part of the time and with this we had a lot of great views.  Most of the time we were near houses and we saw many stores and motels and campgrounds.

Tomorrow we will continue on Road 132, and go by Matapedia Valley and get to Campbellton.  We could have chosen to take a shorter route and use the bike trail 'Le Petit Témis' which goes from Rivière-du-Loup to Edmundson, and which Charles likes to ride, but we want to go by the Acadian Peninsula and stop at Marthe's father, Lucien.
