Ceci est la 5e et dernière journée avec François comme compagnon de route. Nous allons manquer sa compagnie et aussi celle d'Estelle. Pendant ces jours, nous avons profité du véhicule pour faire le trajet avec moins de bagages. Marthe et Charles ont enlevé leur sacs rouges à l'arrière des vélos et Charles a prit une charge moins grosse dans le trailer. Nous avons aussi acheté chacun une oreiller à $4 pour le camping; item qu'on n'a pas de place pour emmener. C'était aussi bien agréable d'avoir une glacière avec des breuvages froids à notre disposition à notre arrivée.
Estelle et Tiffany, l'amie de Patrick, ont préparé le diner pendant que les 3 cyclistes ont prit leur tour dans la douche. François a même arrangé une porte d'armoire. Après le repas, François nous a conduit avec nos vélos, à un magasin de vélos, pour faire le dernier tune-up du voyage. Puis c'était le temps du départ pour François et Estelle qui doivent retourner au travail lundi et ont encore une longue route devant eux. François a fait un total de 630 km avec nous cette semaine.
En après-midi, Patrick et Tiff nous ont conduit au Parc Gatineau, où nous sommes allé voir une chute d'eau. Nous sommes arrêté manger de la crème glacée sur le chemin du retour. Puis c'était le temps d'aller chercher nos vélos au magasin. Patrick et Charles les ont conduit jusqu'à la maison, pendant que Marthe et Tiff sont parti en voiture et sont arrêté faire une épicerie pour le lendemain. Juste le temps de faire un lavage puis nous sommes sorti au centre ville pour un très bon souper au restaurant. De retour, il fallait ré-arranger nos bagages, vérifier la route pour se rendre à Montréal et faire le blog. Une journée bien remplie. Comme il se fait tard, nous ajouterons les photos demain.

This morning we left early to be able to get to our son Patrick's place before lunch, and we made it by 11:30h. The ride to get there went very smoothly and felt very quick. We even rode for 16 km on a hard gravel bike trail, on an old train track. That was a nice break from the traffic. When we were more in town, we rode on more bike trails.
This is the 5th and last day with François as a road companion. We will miss his company and also Estelle's. During these days, we took advantage of having a support vehicle. Marthe and Charles removed the two red bags from the back of the bikes, and Charles kept a lesser load in the trailer. We even both got a $4 pillow for camping; an item we don't have room to carry. It was also nice to have cold beverages in a cooler when we arrived at destination.
Estelle and Tiffany, Patrick's friend, prepared lunch while the 3 cyclists took turn in the shower. François even fixed a cupboard door. After lunch, we took a last ride in François' car to bring our bikes to a bike shop, for the last tune-up of the trip. Then it was time for François and Estelle to take the road to go home, as they are going back to work on Monday and still have a long ride ahead of them. François rode a total of 630 km with us this week.
In the afternoon, Patrick and Tiff took us on a ride to Gatineau Park, where we visited a waterfall. On the way back, we stopped for ice cream. Then it was time to pick up our bikes at the store, which Patrick and Charles rode home, while Tiff and Marthe drove home and stopped for grocery items needed for the next day. We had time to do a laundry and went out in downtown Ottawa to a nice restaurant for supper. Back at the house, we had to re-arrange our luggages, check the map for the road to get to Montréal, and write the blog. This was a well filled day. As it is getting late, we will only add the pictures tomorrow.
