Newfoundland - Day 77 - Aug 14 - Port-aux-Basques to Robinsons - 107 km (T=6969 km)

Ce jour n'était pas une journée très énergétique.  Hier soir nous sommes embarqué sur le traversier vers 9:30h, mais n'avons eu notre chambre qu'a minuit.  À 6h ce matin, l'intercom a annoncé le déjeuner et nous a réveillé.  Notre voiture était stationné au plus bas niveau et nous furent les derniers à sortir.

Il était 9h par le temps que je suis parti en vélo et ordinairement j'ai déjà fait 50 à 60 km par ce temps là.  En plus se coucher à minuit était super tard pour moi.  Je ne sais pas si cela est la cause, ou encore la chaleur aujourd'hui, mais c'était définitivement une journée où je n'y était pas vraiment aujourd'hui (off-day). Quand j'avais vérifié la météo ce matin, le maximum devait être 18C; mais il a fait vraiment plus chaud que cela.  En plus il y avait beaucoup de grosses buttes!  Finalement, j'ai réussi à faire 107 km.

Aujourd'hui j'ai suivi Lindsay et Tony pour la majeure partie de la journée et nous restons tous au même motel ce soir.  Il n'y a pas d'air climatisé, mais la température a rafraichie et nous allons pouvoir quand même bien dormir.  Une chose pour sur, c'était très agréable de voir les montagnes pour les beaux paysages.

Today was not too energetic.  Last night we boarded the ferry around 9:30h, but it was midnight by the time we got our room.  At 6 o'clock this morning, we were woken up by the intercom, telling us about the breakfast being served.  Also we were parked on the bottom level and were the last one out of the ferry.

It was 9h by the time I was on my bike.  And usually I already have 50 or 60 km done by that time.  And midnight was also a late night for me.  So I don't know if it is because of that, or also maybe because of the heat, but today was definitely an off day for me.  I had looked at the forecast this morning and it said that the maximum temperature would only be 18C.  It got way higher than that and the hills were also at the rendez-vous.  Anyway, I managed to get 107 km done.

Today, I was following Lindsay and Tony for the most part of the day.  We are staying at the same motel tonight.  There is no air conditioning, but it is cooler now and we should be able to get some much needed sleep.  One thing for sure, it was nice to see the mountains for all the nice views.
