Day 81 - Aug 18 - Bishop's Falls to Gander - 80 km (T=7441 km)

J'étais sur la route à 6h ce matin et est arrivé au motel à Gander vers 9h.  C'était un 80 km facile avec du vent de dos la plupart du temps; cependant la température était déjà 27C à mon arrivée au motel.  D'après les nouvelles c'est la journée la plus chaude de l'été à Terre-Neuve, jusqu'à présent en 2015.  La température à même atteint 35C en après-midi.  Beaucoup trop chaud pour pédaler!

J'avais seulement prévu une courte route de vélo parce que nous avons prévu une longue route en voiture, encore une fois.  (300km)  Une autre péninsule de Terre-Neuve, pas vraiment touristique, mais très belle.  Ce qui nous a le plus impressionné est le village de Newtown.  C'est un genre de presqu'ile, avec une route très étroite et surtout très rocheux.  Terre-Neuve est un très bel endroit à visiter.  Les côtes des trois péninsules que nous avons visité ces derniers jours sont très rocheuses avec peu de plages de sable, et celle-ci ont même des roches dans l'eau.

C'était bien agréable d'avoir une voiture pour se promener aujourd'hui et surtout d'avoir l'air climatisé dans la voiture et dans la chambre de motel.

I was on the road at 6h AM and got to the motel in Gander by 9h; an easy 80 km ride, with tail wind most of the way.  However the temperature was already 27C when I got there.  The news on the radio mentioned that this is the warmest day of the summer so far in 2015.   It even reached 35C in the afternoon.  Way too hot for pedalling!

I had only planned a short bike ride because we planned another long car ride (300 km).  We visited another Newfoundland peninsula, not very touristic but still very beautiful.  Our best point of interest was the village of Newtown.  It is almost an island , with a very narrow street and very rocky.  

Newfoundland is a very beautiful place to visit.  All the coast lines in the three peninsulas we visited the last few days, are very rocky, with very little sand beaches and even those have rocks in the water. 

It was nice to have a car today, but also air conditioning both in the car and motel room.
