Day 1 - May 30 - Stanley Park to Burnaby - 15 km

Ce matin nous nous sommes rendu à Stanley Park, pour toucher l'Océan Pacifique, et officiellement commencer notre tour du Canada. On a fait 21 km pour se rendre à la plage puis 15 km pour retourner à l'hotel. Donc nous avons 3 jours, incluant notre voyage ici, qui ne compteront pas dans le total des jours et des km parcourus. (nous avons aussi 95 km à visiter la région qui ne sont pas comptabilisés).

Il y avait beaucoup de personnes au Parc Stanley jeudi, mais encore plus aujourd'hui, puisque c'est samedi et qu'il fait très beau. Il y avait des piétons, des personnes en patin à roulettes, des coureurs, des cyclistes et plusieurs en bateau et même en bateau à rames en équipe. On a été chanceux d'avoir 4 beaux jours jusqu'à présent, avec des températures de 23 à 26 degrés C.

Ensuite on a fait une autre épicerie, pour les prochains jours et on a placé nos choses dans nos sacs, prêt pour le départ demain matin.

Ce soir notre fils Philippe, avec ses deux amis, Sara et Jérémie, viennent nous trouver à l'hotel. Ils vont faire le tour du Canada en vélo eux aussi. On ne va pas nécessairement se suivre, mais on devrait se rencontrer régulièrement.

This morning we rode to Stanley Park to touch the Pacific Ocean and officially start our tour of Canada. We did 21 km to get to the beach and 15 km to return to our hotel. Therefore we have 3 days,  including traveling, which will not be included into the days and km travelled. (we also did 95 km visiting the region, that will not be included).

There was a lot of people in Stanley Park Thursday, but a lot more today, since it is Saturday and the weather is great. There was pedestrians, roller skaters, joggers, cyclists and a lot of people in boats, even team rowing boats . We have been very fortunate to have had 3 beautiful days so far, with temperatures between 23 and 26 degree C.

Then we made another grocery, for the next few days, and finished preparing our bags for the departure tomorrow.

Tonight our son Philippe, with two friends, Sara and Jeremie, will join us at the hotel. They are also doing a cross Canada tour by bicycle.  We won't really follow each other but should meet regularly.
